History
Riddle the Roar was formed in November of 2008. The band was a merge of two projects: Tin Shack Kings and O'ser Opera. O'ser Opera was a project consisting of Alan Lilienthal and Joe Khoroosi and various other musicians. The two began writing music together in 2006 and were actively playing shows and recording music on an acoustic level. Tin Shack Kings consisted of singer/songwriter Matt Phipps and Joe Khoroosi. The two met briefly in 2005 while Matt Phipps was attempting a project, which eventually became the band "Mayweather". Joe sparsely played shows with Mayweather and also recorded violin on their record. In 2008 Matt Phipps and Joe Khoroosi began writing music together which eventually led to the project Tin Shack Kings. O'ser Opera was still in going strong, so after some time Joseph decided to throw the two projects into the same rehearsal space and see what happened. What happened, was Riddle the Roar. Nate Jones and Randall Lovell were added to the mix to take the what had been two acoustic projects to a full band; rock project. In June of 2008 the band began recording their Self-Titled Debut album, recording drums with producer Chris Hobson and then tracking the rest of the album on their own. They later brought the tracks back to Chris Hobson who mixed and mastered them for the final release, in January of 2010.
